What Happened to the Public Demo?

The public Dimraeth demo was withdrawn on July 15, 2026. At our September 16, 2026 check, no replacement demo was listed on Steam. The available paid Early Access game is a separate release, not the old free test returning.

There is no replacement demo listed at this check

The September 16 check found the paid Early Access game on Steam, without a replacement demo download listed. This follows the developer's July withdrawal of the earlier public demo. The status here is dated: it describes the current official listing rather than making a permanent claim about future demo plans.

If an older article or video says the demo is available, check which version and date it describes. The earlier demo did exist, so historical footage is not itself misleading; using it as proof of a download available today is the problem. This page does not provide an unofficial installer or a mirror of the withdrawn build.

The closure was announced before it happened

On July 2, the developer announced that the demo would be taken down on July 15. A July 15 follow-up thanked the demo's players and described that day as its closing day. The follow-up also recalled the demo opening in April, placing those earlier test sessions before the September Early Access release.

These events answer different questions. An April-era announcement establishes that a public test was offered, while the July notices explain why its download is no longer listed at this check. A later upload or repost of a demo trailer does not, by itself, announce a new playable test.

The old test no longer represented the developing game

The July explanation focused on the growing difference between the demo and the version being prepared for Early Access. The developer said the divergence affected features and even choices made before entering a world. Removing that build was therefore a version-representation decision, not an announcement that development had ended.

The notice discussed a possible future demo conditionally: reintroducing it would likely require substantial rebuilding. It did not promise a reopening date. The careful distinction is between a withdrawn version and a commitment never to offer another demo; the announcement only establishes the former.

Paid Early Access is not a renamed demo

The September release is sold as an Early Access game. The developer's September content announcement described changes including the elf race, Shadow class, a reworked skill tree and new equipment sets. That gives a concrete reason not to assume an old demo guide describes the same character options or progression systems.

Those changes do not establish every current skill value, item bonus or upgrade rule. In particular, combining an old demo table with a newer gameplay clip can produce a ruleset that never existed in either version. Read the buying assessment for the current feature scope, or the release guide for the launch timeline, without treating either as proof that a free test has reopened.
