Your First Steps in Dimraeth

Start with the Lost Caverns, learn deliberate combat, and use Earlwood as a point of reference before exploring Wildwood. This beginner overview covers the Early Access starter region.

Give your first session a small goal

The current starter region runs from the Lost Caverns through Earlwood Village into Wildwood Forest. Treat that as an orientation route, not a speedrun or a complete quest walkthrough. A useful first-session goal is to understand your character, recognize the village, and become comfortable with a few encounters before planning a longer expedition.

Learn when to stop attacking

Combat asks you to manage stamina and respond to enemy attack cues. Practice recognizing a cue, choosing between repositioning and a defensive action, then deciding whether to attack. Our beginner recommendation is to judge an encounter by how clearly you understood it, not just by how quickly you won.

Avoid changing your entire approach after every defeat. Try one adjustment at a time: attack less often, watch from farther away, or concentrate on the timing of one defensive option. This is a learning routine, not a claim about an optimal damage rotation.

Connect exploration with preparation

Fighting is only part of the Early Access loop: gathering, equipment crafting, upgrades and base building are also available. Before setting out, pick one purpose for the trip. On returning, review what you found and whether it helps that purpose; this is easier to follow than trying to improve every system at once.

For a first character, prioritize understanding the choices in front of you over following a numerical build prescription. A claimed level cap, experience route or free reset can change your decisions substantially, so this guide does not rely on unverified versions of those claims.

Choose the next question you need answered

Use Character Creation for a pre-adventure checklist, Classes for the available disciplines, and Races for the current roster. If you plan to join friends, read Multiplayer before choosing whose world to use. Solo play is also supported; you do not need to organize a party to begin.
