Choosing a Starting Class

The current Early Access roster lists Brawler, Mage and Shadow. Compare the confirmed class identities before choosing; this is a starting-class overview, not a damage tier list.

Brawler: start with a close-combat identity

The official Brawler description emphasizes agile, weapon-led melee combat. That makes it a sensible class to inspect first if fighting up close is what interests you. It does not establish that Brawler is a heavy-armored tank, requires a particular weapon, or has better survivability than every alternative.

Mage or Magician: look at elemental combat

Steam calls the current spellcasting class a mage; the official website uses Magician. The website describes an elemental fighter combining magic with weapon attacks. If that combination appeals to you, compare the actual abilities shown in your game before committing to an imagined pure-ranged or pure-support role.

Shadow: confirmed, but not ranked here

Shadow is included in the developer's current class roster. The sources checked for this overview do not provide a sufficiently detailed current kit to recommend specific weapons, status effects or a leveling sequence. Do not read the class name alone as proof of stealth, backstab or poison mechanics.

Choose for the actions you want to practice

Our recommendation is to choose a discipline whose combat identity interests you, then read its in-game ability descriptions. Ask whether you enjoy its approach before worrying about a perfect endgame setup. A useful comparison records what an ability does, when you can use it, and whether its demands fit your preferred pace.

When comparing two candidates, use the same questions for both. What action do you expect to repeat most often? Which description sounds enjoyable even before it is powerful? Which requirement do you still need to understand? Keep missing information separate from disadvantages: an undocumented Shadow ability is not evidence that Shadow is weak. For group play, share these preferences with your friends instead of assigning someone a compulsory tank or healer role based only on a class name.
